OVERVIEW

S&B is currently seeking a Project Scheduler responsible for developing and managing critical path plans and schedules, as well as monitoring project costs for medium-sized and complex projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cost engineering, planning, and scheduling, with the ability to independently evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques in these areas. This role involves planning and executing tasks that require sound judgment and the flexibility to modify established methods in cost engineering, planning, and scheduling. The Project Scheduler will take ownership of project schedules for medium to large EPC projects or alliance programs, perform detailed schedule analysis, support project management in planning and progress monitoring, and mentor junior schedulers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Plans, schedules, coordinates and oversees the work of all Project Controls activities at the project level.

 

EDUCATION

 

Normally requires a four-year technical degree.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Normally requires a four-year technical degree and typically 10 years' related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). Certification is normally required at this level.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and/or scheduling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of CPM, resource loading, and schedule integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret project contracts, scope, and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules.
  • Facilitate interactive planning sessions
  • Perform schedule risk analysis and critical path identification.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction leads to ensure schedule alignment.
  • Support project reporting, including progress updates, forecasts, and milestone tracking.
  • Assist in schedule recovery planning and scenario analysis.
  • Mentor other schedulers and review their work.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read and write in the English language.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Basic mathematical skills required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

May require occasional field trips or assignments to plants. This requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. It also requires clear, close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Most work is conducted in a professinal business setting. Occasional field trips or assignments to the field will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals and airborne particles.
