The Manager of Risk Management, Claims and Insurance, will identify and take actions to control risks and losses in the areas of property, casualty and financial products. The Manager of Risk Management will manage insurance claims and related litigation. The Manager of Risk Management will also assist in legal issues including assessment of contract risks, insurance coverage issues and claim matters. In conjunction with the Safety Department, the Manager of Risk Management oversees the Company worker’s compensation program. The Manager of Risk Management also advises on proposals and contracts for projects in connection with risk management issues.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position will supervise the Senior Risk Analyst and any other Risk Management personnel.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business administration, accounting, or related field.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires at least eight years’ experience in commercial insurance and risk management; engineering and construction in-house risk management experience preferred. Additionally, legal experience managing claims and outside counsel preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and write insurance documents and certain legal documents. Ability to read, comprehend laws and regulations in the risk management area. Ability to articulate legal position and arguments in negotiations. Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills, and job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Skills necessary to calculate retrospective rating plans, calculation of experience modifiers, compilation of statistical data for losses, calculate loss ratios and negotiate favorable terms and conditions for all insurance programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasionally will participate in a field trip to project sites, travel to client locations and meetings with insurance companies. This requires the ability to hear, stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distant vision, and depth perception and ability to focus. Ability to work extended and irregular hours. Lifting approximately 40 pounds may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office work environment with moderate noise. Irregular hours may be necessary. Occasionally, may visit project locations or owners’ offices. Visits to project sites may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
