OVERVIEW

A detail-oriented and analytical compensation analyst with a strong proficiency in Excel and a solid understanding of compensation practices. This role will involve analyzing compensation data, developing reports, and supporting the design and implementation of compensation programs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in compensation analysis or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and power query.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of compensation practices, principles, and regulations.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create complex spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and generate reports.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze survey results to benchmark company positions.
  • Develop and maintain compensation reports, dashboards, and metrics to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in job evaluations and the development of job descriptions to ensure accurate classification and alignment with compensation structures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to compensation.
  • Provide support in the administration of annual compensation processes, including merit increases, bonuses, and equity awards.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to communicate compensation policies and procedures effectively.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, business periodicals, professional journals, and technical bulletins are essential requirements for this role.  The ability to write routine reports and business correspondence is required.  Must be able to effectively deliver oral presentations and to respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, and colleagues daily.  Job success requires effective interpersonal communication and relationship development skills.  Job tasks require frequent interchange and effective interaction and communication with all levels of personnel.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

The ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as commissions, proportions, and percentages, and to apply concepts of basic algebra are required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, good vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.  Lifting as much as 25 pounds may occasionally be required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normally will work in a business office environment.  May conduct visits to the facilities or other locations which may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, fumes, chemicals, or airborne particles.
