The Senior VDI Systems Administrator will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the organization's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) built on VMware Horizon and VCE platforms. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including analyzing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the VDI environment to ensure peak performance and user satisfaction.
Key duties involve installing, evaluating, configuring, and upgrading servers, as well as maintaining associated hardware to meet organizational objectives. The role requires proactive identification of potential system issues, providing recommendations, and implementing solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability. Additionally, the Senior VDI Systems Administrator will ensure that all system hardware, operating systems, software, and related procedures align with the company's standards, values, and performance goals.
Collaboration is a vital aspect of this role. You will work closely with IT management on planning, procurement, and implementation initiatives, and coordinate with support teams to resolve escalated issues effectively. This dynamic position demands technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a commitment to maintaining a robust and efficient VDI environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will supervise 3rd party contractor or vendor support technician on occasion. Up to 2 Jr. System Administrators.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study and 10+ years’ experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical systems documentation.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to operating plants, construction sites or other office complexes. This requires the ability to stand, walk, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to operating plants, construction sites or other office complexes. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noises, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
