S&B’s Manager of Communications plays a key role in advancing the Company’s internal and external communications strategy as a leading full-service EPC provider. Working closely with executives and key stakeholders, this position will help lead, plan and execute effective internal communications to inform and engage S&B’s employees across multiple locations and regions, ranging from employee townhalls and internal newsletters to execution of employee engagement events. This role also helps to develop, plan and execute S&B’s annual media relations and social media strategy with a focus on increasing S&B’s brand awareness and recognition in key local markets where we serve clients. Based at our Houston headquarters location, the position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and manages a team of two communications professionals, along with external agency partners.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will supervise two communications professionals in addition to outside agency partners.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Excellent communication skills are essential for this position. In addition to the qualifications already identified, the ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical bulletins, and government regulations is a plus for this role. The ability to write reports and business correspondence is also a requirement as is the ability to effectively deliver oral presentations and to respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, clients, and suppliers. Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills, and job tasks require frequent interchange, and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Position requires the ability to effectively manage and track ongoing marketing, communications and events budgets in addition to key analytics to accurately report on employee engagement, event and marketing and communications outcomes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position requires the ability to hear normal conversation, see near objects and speak clearly. Occasionally may participate in a field trip to a job site which requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most work performed in office environment with hybrid schedule. Research and development may require travel. Must be able to balance the demands of competing workloads to achieve deadlines and priorities.
