Supports Proposal Manager on major proposals, pre-qualifications, presentations, and other related sales efforts for assigned Business Unit. Acts as the lead on smaller proposal efforts as assigned by Proposal Manager. Collaborates with Proposal Manager to ensure assigned efforts are compelling, compliant, responsive and provide a professional image of the company to our clients.
Collaborates with Proposal Manager and Commercial Manager to ensure identified winning strategies for each assigned opportunity are implemented in the proposal, pre-qualification, or presentation.
Coordinates, edits, and formats writing, and other content provided by others. Also provides original writing for proposal sections when required and as personal knowledge allows.
Coordinates with proposal team throughout proposal, pre-qualification, or presentation lifecycle, ensuring activities are progressing on schedule and alerting Proposal Manager or Commercial Manager of any potential issues that need to be addressed as early as possible.
Supports Proposal Manager in the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the proposal process for the assigned Business Unit, including related assets and tools. Collaborates with Proposal Manager and Knowledge Manager in the maintenance of knowledge library required to support sales efforts, including write-ups and project experience listings.
Actively pursues ongoing self-improvement and learning opportunities to expand industry and technical knowledge.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides guidance for clerical staff. During a proposal, may provide direction and guidance for the entire proposal team, including project managers.
EDUCATION
College degree preferred but not required. Comparable industry experience or proven competency accepted in lieu of degree.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Must be an organized professional with strong written and verbal communication skills and solid project management abilities. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and in managing electronic files on a server. Prefer prior experience in the engineering and construction industry, preferably in the process industries. Prefer some experience developing written proposals and oral presentations for clients.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Strong written and verbal communication skills are imperative. Ability to read, analyze and interpret client solicitations as well as general business and technical literature. Ability to write and edit proposals, reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers, and engineers, and to help others do likewise.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to produce clear, concise charts and graphs from numerical data. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to operating plants or construction sites. This requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. It also requires clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to operating plants or construction sites. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
