Senior Civil Engineer - Harris/Chambers County, TX (onsite)

The successful candidate will provide planning, design and construction expertise for Civil engineering with a significant focus Front End Development. Working on site at the client’s facility participating on engineering projects from original concept to field follow-up, this includes working with other members of the on site Design/Engineering Team as well as other on site discipline groups within the facility.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will apply Civil engineering capabilities to a variety of fast pace, small capital and maintenance projects.

 Engineer Responsibilities:

• Working with other on site members of the Clients Civil Group as well as other discipline groups within the facility
• Involved in various aspects of project planning, design and construction
• Performing civil/structural analysis, design and assessment of surface water diversions
• Engineering and design for misc. foundation, structures, pipe supports & retention systems
• Providing engineering support during construction
• Provide technical direction to junior staff

Skills & Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to work with other discipline groups and adhere to all safety standards
• Must be able to go into field to assess project requirements, climb stairs and ladders, etc.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork-oriented

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, with minimum 5 years of related experience in chemical/oil/gas/process industries
• Experience with design, construction and technical reporting and documentation
• Client focused / strong interpersonal skills
• Committed to technical excellence
• Critical thinking skills for problem solving
• Strong technical writing skills
• Registered Texas P.E. a plus

Occasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site to gather project information. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

All candidates must pass background checks, drug screening and qualify for issuance of TWIC
