OVERVIEW

S&B is hiring a Communications Coordinator to join its Marketing and Communications team. This role plays an important part in advancing S&B’s marketing and communications strategy as a leading full-service EPC provider. The Communications Coordinator supports S&B’s internal and external communications plans, working across the organization to plan, write, edit, and distribute engaging and informative communications across a wide variety of channels. The role will also support ongoing public relations and social media content development in addition to supporting planning and execution of S&B’s employee engagement events.

EDUCATION

 

Four-year bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • 1-3 years of experience in a corporate, internal communications or public relations/marketing role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills. Strong story-telling mindset that can effectively craft and develop key messaging and translate it into engaging and informative content for various audiences (employees, media, public, and customers).
  • Experience with Associated Press style and writing for various communications platforms and channels, including social, digital and email marketing.
  • Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as good attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be well versed in full Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams required).
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and experience with Canva is a plus, but not required.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Communications Coordinator will assist in the execution of S&B’s corporate and internal communications strategy, including public relations, external/internal communications and employee engagement events and activities.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

Communications:

  • Support key stakeholders across the organization by creating and implementing communications plans for key programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee communications, including creation and distribution of S&B’s internal newsletters and announcements through S&B’s email platform.
  • Draft written deliverables, such as press releases, articles, blog posts and other communications materials as needed.
  • Assist with event planning and related communications for employee town halls and employee engagement events.
  • Assist in maintenance of internal library of assets, email templates and distribution lists.
  • Track, monitor and report on key communications analytics.
  • Create and publish weekly content for S&B TV, a key internal communications tool for employee engagement and awareness.
  • Support internal/external video communications strategy and launch of videos to drive awareness, engagement.
  • Assist in maintaining the MyS&B employee portal with new and current internal content. Support S&B’s internal departments by providing best practices and recommendations for communicating via the portal to internal stakeholders.

 

Event Marketing:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of internal town hall and employee engagement events, including promotion, logistics and coordination of pre- and post-event details.

 

Social Media & Content Development:

  • Create compelling social media messaging and graphics for LinkedIn to reinforce S&B’s brand positioning and expertise.

 

Provide support for other Marketing & Communications initiatives as needed.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Excellent communication skills are essential for this position. In addition to the qualifications already identified, the ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical bulletins, and government regulations is a plus for this role. The ability to write reports and business correspondence is also a requirement as is the ability to effectively deliver oral presentations and to respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, clients, and suppliers. Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills.  Job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Position requires the ability to calculate figures and work with fractions and percentages, as well as to apply concepts such as ratios, probability, statistical inference, and proportions to practical situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Position requires the ability to hear normal conversation, see near objects and speak clearly. Occasionally may participate in a video or photoshoot at a job site, which requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted is routinely required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Normally will work a hybrid schedule, primarily in an office environment, but occasionally may visit a construction site in an operating plant with proximity to operating machinery and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
