As a seasoned professional, the ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in successfully managing large-scale lump sum Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects with a total installed cost (TIC) value exceeding $1 billion.  Your proven track record in delivering exceptional results, managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and ensuring quality and safety will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects. With your strong leadership capabilities, you will provide strategic direction, oversee project execution, and effectively manage stakeholder relationships.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Possesses ultimate authority on assigned project.  Reports to Project Manager level, Senior Vice President or Vice President level.

 

EDUCATION

 

Four-year technical degree or business administration degree or equivalent (advanced degree – MBA preferred)

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

10-15 years supervisory or equivalent experience in similar type facility construction.  Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); Company policy, procedures and standards; and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiations, essential.  Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.  Implement, manage and provide safety leadership to assure zero injury safety results. Understand and interpret standard construction contract language including insurance requirements that may significantly contribute to the outcome of a project.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed safely and in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.  Includes interfacing with client representatives, engineer representatives, subcontractors, security, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s).
  • Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.), purchase requisitions, change requests, etc.
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc. are adhered to.  Interpret policies as required.
  • Maintain official project log and documentation files.
  • Manage and implement safety programs on the project.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site.  This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.  Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise.  Occasionally, may visit or be temporarily assigned to an operating plant or to reside in an office on-site for the duration of a project.  This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
