S&B is currently seeking a Module Project Lead to join our team.  The Module Project Lead will focus on the design and layout aspects of modularization systems utilized in the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and/or renewable industries.  The role includes contributing to proposal development and delivering presentations to potential clients. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Module Project Lead is responsible for the overall quality and timeliness of the work from all discipline personnel assigned to the area or project, and the coordination of the discipline leads. Also, may be responsible for the personnel in engineering support groups charged with tracking cost, progress, and schedule.

 

EDUCATION

 

Normally requires a four-year BS degree in engineering. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  

  • Requires a minimum of nine (9) years total experience, four (4) in one or more of the discipline areas, or in an engineering support role, and five (5) years as a Project Lead I or II. Equivalent working knowledge and experience may substitute for work in a discipline. 
  • Must have working knowledge of the various software packages and automated engineering and reporting systems used at S&B.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a project engineering or design engineering role focused on mechanical equipment, modulization design of systems utilized in the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and/or renewable industries.

  

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assists in Proposal development and presentations to potential clients
  • Must have experience in module projects
  • Developes well-defined overall project scope of work.

  • Assists in development of estimates of cost for engineering.

  • Participates in progress reporting to the client, oral and written.
  • Communicates with the client and other groups and departments working on the project.
  • Approves all P&ID's revised or created for the project.
  • Approves all new or revised drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Ensures accuracy of discipline audits, and reviews deviations.
  • Participates in development and analysis of quantity-based trending.
  • Approves all inquiries and requisitions for procured items, including bulk materials.
  • Participates in constructibility reviews and construction planning.
  • Initiates project change orders any time changes to scope affect the budget or schedule.
  • Promotes good work habits and attitudes within the various disciplines.
  • Coordinates Project Close-out and completion of archive documentation requirements.  

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and standards, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers, and engineers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Occasionally, will conduct or participate in field trips to existing plants. This requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Lifting of 25 pounds may be required.  It also requires clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, will conduct or participate in field trips to existing plants. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals and airborne particles.
